The government wants to end the emergency visa programme for victims for the Turkish earthquake – but some politicians say it’s too soon.
In the wake of the massive disaster which killed 50,000, the Confederation activated a system which allowed Turkish nationals with family already resident in Switzerland to enter and stay.
But it's being reported the Federal Councillor, Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, wants to end the fast-track visa programme by the middle of next month.
But others say it’s premature and the situation in Turkey is still precarious and many don’t have a home to go back to.
