The health minister Alain Berset says the current rules can be lifted as the strategy of making sure the health system was not put under too much strain is being successful.
But he says preparations in case of a new wave at the end of the summer are already underway.
The government is preparing for a new vaccination drive if necessary. Berset points out that those with at least 2 doses of vaccine is still under 70% and current protections will be waning.
The federal government is calling on the cantons to be ready for mass testing and vaccination in the autumn if needed.
