Plan-les-Ouates is turning on the future of street lighting.
The Geneva commune is replacing 400 street lights with remotely controlled LEDs.
This first phase covers nearly half the town’s public lighting network, with work carried out in collaboration with Geneva Industrial Services.
Completion is expected by mid-November. The upgrade promises significant energy savings, equal to the consumption of around 30 households.
The new system allows flexible light management, from dimming to night shutoffs, while improving safety, reducing light pollution and protecting the nighttime environment.
