The war in Iran is hitting Swiss tourism hard.
At the City Hotel in Brunnen on the shores of Lake Lucerne, the owner Stojan Stevanovic says all Chinese guests have vanished due to flight disruptions in the Middle East and blocked alternative routes via Siberia due to the Ukraine war.
He estimates a loss of 20,000 overnight stays and fears a bad summer, with cancellations now flooding in.
Specializing in Chinese tourists for over ten years, Stevanovic worries that insurance and tour operators won’t cover the losses.
