Jet d'Eau hours could be cut to save power

Geneva is looking at ways to save money on powering the Jet d’Eau. The cantonal executive is looking to cut the number of hours the jet runs during the day.

The State Councillor Antonio Hodgers says they want find the times that would have the least impact. He notes that tourists are not always guaranteed to see the jet running due to high winds and maintenance.

The Jet d’Eau will be closed anyway the first two weeks of November for annual servicing.

But the canton has decided it would not be banning Christmas lights or restaurant terrace heaters.

It says many businesses have already suffered too much due to the pandemic.
