Swiss publishing giant Ringier is reportedly ending the SonntagsBlick, closing one of the country's oldest Sunday newspapers after 57 years.
The investigative outlet Republik broke the news on 15 July, citing several independent sources, and says the decision to stop publication at the end of 2026 is irreversible.
Ringier has not confirmed it publicly.
Republik says everyone involved was made to sign a non-disclosure agreement. If it goes ahead, the paper's distinctive red distribution boxes will vanish from streets across German-speaking Switzerland, marking another retreat for a Swiss print press already hit by years of falling revenue.
