Two men are in court for murder this week because of a TV show.
The case dates back to 2007 when the body of a 27-year-old Egyptian man was found in a small lake in canton Thurgau. He’d been shot several times, including one to the head.
But police were stumped and had no leads until 2022 when a German TV show covered the cold case which brought new information to light.
Now a restaurant owner and a construction worker are in court.
Prosecutors allege the men were paid by the victim’s wife to kill her husband – as he’d been abusive.
The wife died ten years ago due to natural causes.
Both men deny the charges. A verdict is due next month.
