The Geneva commune of Meyrin is considering going back to basics after the public transport company the TPG ditched the self-driving shuttle that ran from Meyrin Village to the local train station.
The TPG says they couldn’t continue the service after speed bumps were put in on the roads.
But now locals are considering bringing back a horse drawn tram.
One of the backers, Pascal Seeger, say horses have many benefits – including being 100% green.
Horse drawn trams were a common sight in Geneva until 1862 when electric trams started to take over. Although they were used on the Mont-Blanc Bridge until 1903 as the electric trams were too heavy.
