Most people in the country are against increasing the defence budget, despite the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
But there is support for the purchase of new fighter jets.
The poll published by the media group, Tamedia, show 41% believe enough money is being spent on the army, while a further 8% actually want it cut.
45% say the defence budget should be increased.
Despite the ambivalence – there remains strong support to continue with the purchase of 36 American made F-35 fighter jets. Voters gave the green light to the new jets two years ago, but a new initiative is trying to overturn it.
The poll showed 60% say the deal should still happen.
