French prosecutors have reclassified a mysterious death as murder.
Back in June last year, hikers discovered the body of a young woman near Crozet in the Pays de Gex.
The body has not been identified and police say there’s no sign of violence and the cause of death remains unknown.
Prosecutors are now treating the death as murder. The change in focus will allow greater leeway for police and a more thorough investigation.
