Lottery ticket sales for ‘The Joker’ game were temporarily suspended after a seemingly organised group of players started to buy thousands of francs worth of tickets.
Many owners of small tobacconist shops in Geneva reported people coming in with sums as high as CHF 15,000 to buy tickets.
Another shop keeper says he took CHF 80,000 in two days on that one game.
The players seem to be buying every combination of numbers in a concerted effort – some of the shopkeepers mentioned they seemed to be young and English speaking.
The draw was last night – and someone won CHF 3m.
If it was a member of the group is unknown.
