A court in canton Valais has sentenced a nurse to nine years in prison and ordered him to leave the country for 15 years, after convicting him of multiple sexual offences - including rape, attempted rape, and coercion.
The man - originally from Romania - denied all charges.
He had originally been given an eight-year term by a lower court, but judges extended the sentence on appeal and upheld his expulsion.
The court found that several assaults occurred in the course of his work in hospitals and during outings with victims.
The ruling covers offences committed between 2015 and 2023, with prosecutors describing the case as involving numerous vulnerable women and calling the defendant a “sexual predator.”
