Thousands join anti-fascist march in Lausanne

Several thousand people took part in an “anti-fascist carnival” in Lausanne.

Between 4,000 and 5,000 demonstrators marched through the city centre on Saturday, according to police.

Organisers say the event aimed to reclaim public space and unite against rising fascism.

The procession began in the Vallon district and ended at Parc de Montbenon, after organisers ignored an official route set by authorities.

Police say the march passed off without major clashes, but there were reports of vandalism, including graffiti on buildings and bank premises.
