Pâquis to get a facelift

The City of Geneva has given the green light to greening the Pâquis district.

CHF 4m will be spent to redesign public spaces in this dense, traffic-heavy neighbourhood. 

The “Croix-Verte” project will rethink an area of 35,000 square metres, with the goal of reducing car traffic, planting more trees, and giving more space to pedestrians and cyclists. 

The idea is to make the area more welcoming for residents. 

The entire process will be participatory, with local voices helping to shape the final design.

The first building permits could be issued as early as 2027.
