A chase lasting several hours brought together different police forces throughout French speaking regions yesterday morning.
It started around 4am when Vaud police wanted to stop a car. Officers believed the two occupants were acting suspiciously.
The car raced off and one shot was fired towards the police near the village of Corcelettes – another shot was fired shortly after.
After a search involving two helicopters and police from Vaud, Fribourg, Neuchâtel and Bern the car was spotted heading towards Biel.
It stopped when it crashed into a police roadblock.
Two people have been arrested and a gun was found.
Police are not releasing any further information.
