A Lamborghini driver who nearly killed a cyclist after a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre in 2019 will go to prison for nearly four years.
The 25-year-old was taking the supercar on a test drive in Dornach in canton Solothurn. While in a queue of traffic on a small road he tried to overtake two cars on a blind curve.
He hit and seriously injured a cyclist on the other side of the road. The cyclist is suffering life changing consequences, according to the court.
Despite the driver’s defence asking for a 12-month suspended sentence, the court ordered him to prison for 3 years and eight months.
The driver still has the right to appeal.
