Lausanne saw a second night of unrest last night following the death of a 17-year-old boy, who fatally crashed a stolen scooter while fleeing police over the weekend.
Last night’s troubles were even bigger than the first skirmishes on Sunday night.
Fireworks were set off, containers burned and barricades erected.
Police intervened with water cannon, tear gas, and rubber bullets, as the clashes spread out of the Prélaz district.
A city bus was heavily damaged. Calm returned after midnight. Seven arrests were made, say the police.
