A lynx in canton Schwyz has been shot by gamekeepers after federal authorities gave the go ahead.
Lynxes are highly protected, but this particular animal is responsible for the death of nine sheep in only three nights.
In the past, it’s been determined that predators that develop a taste for livestock will continue to take the easier option instead of hunting in the wild.
In this particular case, the lynx had already been tagged and captured after it was orphaned. It was released back into the wild in May.
