Shoppers hit the streets and the retail centres yesterday for the first time in the last 7 weeks.
Major outlets such as Ikea and H&M saw queues form at the opening, but it’s the smaller shops which are most relieved as many have been suffering for the past few weeks.
Some have taken the opportunity given by lockdown to renovate and refresh their stock. In Geneva the chance to reopen yesterday was not enough to skip the very Geneva tradition of many shops staying closed on a Monday morning.
But elsewhere in the country, there were noticeably more people on the main Zurich street of Bahnhofstrasse and the Shoppi Tivoli centre in Sprieitenbach reported strong crowds.
