Swiss Post's digital letter service has signed up nearly 960,000 users since its launch in April, with three million digital letters already delivered
Users send and read them through the Post app, under the "my digital mail" tab.
Around 6,000 companies and organisations now use the service for their mailings.
Swiss Post plans to add new features soon, including legally valid electronic signatures for contracts and interactive letters that recipients can fill in and return digitally.
People who have not opted in to the service still receive the same mail on paper in their letterbox.
