The Swiss ambassador in Ukraine and four staff have been evacuated with the help of Swiss special forces. The embassy in Kiev is now closed.
The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs say they left by land.
The government decided to close the embassy on Monday after Russia warned people’s safety could not be guaranteed in the Ukrainian capital.
It’s not known how many Swiss nationals may be left in Ukraine. The last figures showed there were 271 registered. But it’s not necessary for them to tell embassy that they’re there - or that they’ve left.
