The clocks have changed and the nights are closing in – perfect for an evening of raclette.
Clearly, we’re in the right country – and that’s been proven as Switzerland has won the World Raclette Championship being held over the past three days in Morgins in Valais.
The best raclette cheese, according to a panel of experts, come from Champéry and Vouvry in Valais and Giswil in Obwalden.
There were 87 cheeses in competition from around the world, including France, Belgium, the UK, Romania and Canada.
Over 10,000 attended the championships, 30,000 raclettes were served with four tonnes of potatoes.
