Rising daily Covid cases and the uncertainty posed by returning holiday makers has led to the Swiss Government delaying an announcement on easing Covid-19 restrictions.
Cantons were due to hear yesterday what the government proposed as part of its three-step plan for reducing measures to keep the population safe.
That announcement won’t happen now until after a government meeting on 11 August.
However, the Federal Office of Public Health has issued new recommendations for cantons, including encouraging a greater take-up of the Covid-19 vaccine, ‘strongly’ recommending that unvaccinated health care workers are subjected to obligatory and repeat testing, and recommending that visitors to hospitals or care homes must produce a valid Covid certificate, saying they have been vaccinated, tested or recovered from the virus.
