Unions say they will fight a proposed change to labour laws that will allow some workers – if they choose – to have more flexible work times.
The proposal has been trigged by homeworking, which is expected to be far more common even after the pandemic.
It would allow a worker to decide they want to work hours that could be early in the morning or late at night so it fits in with their home schedule better.
But unions say it’s a step towards 24 hour working and will challenge it.
The proposal has been put forward by a parliamentary Economic Commission.
