Valais police say a fresh wave of phone scams has cost residents nearly CHF 150,000 in the past week alone
Officers logged around 30 attempted or successful frauds, with scammers posing as fake police, bank staff or company representatives — and in some cases faking the caller ID to look legitimate.
The tactic is always the same: pressure the victim into handing over cash, cards or PIN codes.
