Geneva Airport says it’s preparing for a very busy summer and says passenger numbers could exceed pre-pandemic levels, for the first time.
The General Director, André Schnieder, says they’re expecting 1.6 million passengers a month over the summer.
An extra 130 baggage handlers have been employed and a new model of directing taxiing aircraft is being used.
The idea is to cut the number of delays – although the airport concedes busy air corridors could impact the airport despite its best efforts.
Some dates have been earmarked as being especially busy. Sundays on 14,21 and 28 of July and the 2nd and 4th of August.
