Water skiing will no longer be allowed in the Geneva harbour as of next year.
Also, the exceptional authorisation for water-skiing previously given to the Ski Nautique Club at Perle du Lac, located in front of the Quai Wilson, will no longer be granted.
The government has noted a decrease in the number of people practicing the sport, while at the same time there has been an increase in demand for swimming in the area.
Water-skiing will still be possible upstream of the Rade and off the Quai de Cologny, on the south bank of the lake. The city will be installing a number of swimming facilities on the Quai Wilson next summer.
