The concept of a Grand Genève region is struggling to make headway amongst those who live in it.
40% of those who have heard of it are not sure if they’re part of it – and 20% don’t know what it is.
This follows a survey by the University of Applied Science in Geneva.
The idea of the Grand Genève area is to bring together the different regions around the lake to make it all work better together.
It covers canton Geneva, the Nyon region, and parts of the French departments of Ain and Haute Savoie.
It’s home for over a million people, and more every year, and the economy is doing well.
But that brings housing, transport and environmental pressures.
The worry is if people don’t identify with it – it will be harder to create joined up solutions.
