The transport minister Albert Rösti has made his priorities clear - and widening the A1 between Lausanne and Geneva is not happening anytime soon.
Instead, the autoroute will be widened near Aarau and on the Geneva bypass between Perly and Bernex - the only road project in French-speaking Switzerland in the next development phase, with a price tag of CHF 1bn.
The Lausanne–Geneva project isn’t dead, though. Rösti says it’s just on hold - and would need a new referendum to come back.
Meanwhile, the Romandie scores big on rail. Nearly CHF 7bn for stations and tracks around Lake Geneva which includes the major renovation of Cornavin.
