The Geneva Society for the Protection of Animals (SGPA) has just dismissed its entire committee amid an ongoing crisis.
At Tuesday night’s general meeting, members voted for the leadership change, giving the association one month to find a new team.
The society is facing serious allegations of animal mistreatment, poor working conditions and financial mismanagement.
An audit uncovered financial problems, despite the association reportedly holding over 7 million francs three years ago.
While the outgoing committee had begun to act, members felt the response was too slow. The future leadership now faces major challenges to restore trust and stability.
