The large-scale redevelopment of Cornavin Station has been pushed back again. It won’t be completed until 2038.
Following a review of the plans, there were so many alterations made designed to increase capacity, that more work is needed before construction can begin - according to the head of the Léman 2030 project.
The total cost of the project will be close to CHF 2bn and the building work will take 9 years.
Swiss Federal Railways say the station is struggling with the current demand.
