A truck driver who crashed through a fence and into a field from the A1 autoroute near Oensingen in canton Solothurn on Friday afternoon was found to be high on drugs.

Before the crash, police had already been called by concerned motorists as the truck was swerving all over the road.

The vehicle careered 50 meters into a farmer’s field before coming to a stop.

The driver was taken to hospital, and investigation is underway.
