Flower clock alarm triggered by flowers

The famous flower clock in the Jardin Anglais in Geneva is protected by an alarm.

If anyone gets too close and starts to trample on the flowers – the alarm will sound, hopefully scaring them off.

But it’s been going off regularly recently – normally without anyone in sight.

Technicians believe the heavy rain with the sun means the plants are growing too quickly – which is triggering the alarm.

Further research is being undertaken, but some plants could be replaced, which would be a relief to local residents.
