The City of Geneva is keeping to its commitment to plans three trees for every one felled.
It planted nearly 500 between November and April – 161 were felled.
The city says planting conditions have been unusually difficult due to the weather.
The new trees are a range of 150 different species, including oak, pine and maples.
Most new trees are in the parks, but also in schoolyards and courtyards belonging to the city.
The trees that have been felled were either dead or dying or considered dangerous.
