Alexandre Brahier is currently the spokesman for the Geneva cantonal police. He’s putting his name forward to take the seat currently held by Viola Amherd, who’s announced she’s resigning.
He says he wants to bring new energy and perspective to the job.
Any Swiss national is free to put their name forward for a seat on the ruling council, it’s parliament that will ultimately decide next month in a series of votes.
He admits he has little chance of being elected, but he says it’s an opportunity to put forward ideas.
