A new campaign has been launched to persuade people to get vaccinated for tick-borne diseases.
Climate change means ticks are now across the whole country, even at high altitudes.
As the weather starts to warm, ticks are beginning to emerge. Christophe Berger from the Vaudoise Pharmacy Society says already dog owners are reporting them being found on their pet.
The cost of a vaccine, around 80 francs, is covered by health insurance. The jabs are available at pharmacies.
Walkers are urged to take more precautions. Wear light coloured, long clothing and use repellent spray.
