A young driver flashed at 111 kph in a 50 zone three years ago tried to use the excuse he sneezed and inadvertently accelerated.
As the then 19-year-old had only a learners’ permit, he was given a year’s suspended prison sentence and lost his licence.
But the man fought the decision, through a regional court, then a Vaud cantonal court and right up to the Federal Court.
He lost every time. Judges refused to accept a sneeze was responsible.
