Jura bans single use e-cigs

Canton Jura is the first to ban the sale of single use electronic cigarettes.

The parliament passed the legislation with barely a debate – only two members voted against.

Other cantons have banned the sale to children, but Jura is the first to ban them outright.

Many other cantons may simply be waiting for federal legislation. The parliament in Bern is currently in the process of changing the law.

The lower house has already voted in favour – the upper house has yet to vote.
