Man drowns in Rhone after fight

A man has drowned in the Rhône River in Geneva after falling into the water during a fight near the Usine night club.


Police say they were alerted at around 10:40 Friday night. Several patrols, river police, firefighters and a helicopter from Rega joined a major search operation, and the Seujet dam was closed.

Despite the effort, the man was found dead by divers on Saturday morning. Authorities have opened an investigation. The victim’s age has not yet been released.
