If you want to head south over the long weekend and not take a tunnel, then you should be able to use the Gotthard Pass.
Canton Uri authorities say the pass should be open after winter from tomorrow at 11am. The pass is over 2,000 meters above sea level and the situation will be regularly assessed. The pass will still be closed overnight.
Other passes are also open, but there are avalanche warnings in place, such as the Klausen and the Furka.
There are still several passes that remain closed for the time being. If you wish to take the high roads – check first.
