The contentious autoroute expansion in France has moved a step closer.
The new link will be 16km long and run between Thonon and Machilly. It will link to the A40.
But it’s opposed by many environmental groups as well as the City of Geneva – which says one of the aims to building the Léman Express rail network was to reduce traffic.
Press reports say the contractor has been signed – but no other details have been released.
