Project to help elderly fraud victims

A pilot project has been launched in Neuchâtel to help elderly victims of fraud.

Thousands are being robbed after being duped by telephone scams or even fake police officers on their doorstep.

The service is a free and confidential helpline, which will provide support and practical advice.

A professor at the Haute Ecole de la Santé La Source in Lausanne, Delphine Roulet-Schwab, says there are very few resources to help victims.

Many are also embarrassed that they’ve been conned and don’t know who they should talk to.

If the project is a success, it could be rolled out across the country.
