Qatar royal caught speeding 17 times

A member of the Qatari royal family was flashed by speed cameras 17 times while sightseeing around the Geneva and Vaud regions last year.

But his status didn’t affect the opinion of the judge in Nyon which has been hearing the case.

The defendant was not in court, but his Bentley - which he’d brought with him from Doha - remains in an impound lot.

He could be jailed for the offences and faces a hefty fine.

But the man, aged in his twenties, is in Qatar and is refusing to speak to the press.
