A new study suggests where you live might affect sperm quality.
Researchers from the University of Geneva and EPFL analyzed samples from over 2,600 young men and found clear regional differences.
They found “hotspots” of higher sperm quality were around Aarau, while a “cold spot” appeared between Thun and Bern, areas with more farmland.
The team suspects agricultural chemicals like pesticides could be a factor, but stress there’s no proof yet of a direct link. The study was published in the journal ‘Human Reproduction’.
