The University of Geneva has reached an agreement with an Italian exchange student 10 years after she claimed she contracted AIDS while working in a laboratory.
A university spokesman says they want to put an end to the legal fight and the agreement does not imply recognition of liability.
The student’s home university, the University of Padua, said the agreement was to pay CHF 140,000.
The Italian student, who’s identity is being kept confidential was carrying out research for her thesis and worked in the lab with samples of the AIDS virus.
