Voters don’t seem to be too excited or concerned by the issues they need to decide this weekend.
Certainly, when compared to the votes in March which green lit the 13th pension payment.
Many will already have submitted their vote by post by now – although voting in person is possible on Sunday.
Participation levels are significantly lower at the moment. In Geneva - which does have a series of important cantonal issues – just over 30% have returned their ballot, but in March at the same stage it was over 38%.
In Lausanne, it’s more noticeable – currently 20% have voted, but it was 35% in March.
It’s not just the French speakers, the same can be seen in Zurich – participation levels are down 7%.
The main national question being asked this weekend is about health insurance premiums – and different ways to keep the cost down.
