Two people have died and a five more injured after an avalanche on the Eiger on Saturday.
There were eight on the mountain at the time. They were part of a ski tour when the avalanche hit, triggering a major alert involving several helicopters, search dogs and police teams.
Seven of them were buried in the snow. One man was unharmed, but had to be rescued by helicopter.
One man died on the spot. Another lost his life in hospital, according to Bern cantonal police.
The injured were helicoptered to various hospitals.
