There’s been yet another death in the mountains. On Tuesday a 17-year-old snowboarder was declared dead on the slopes after going off-piste and triggering an avalanche.
The teen from Zurich was in the Darlux region of Graubünden with friends when he decided to take another route and meet them later.
When he didn’t arrive, the alarm was raised.
Before rescuers could search the region – they had to drop explosives to free loose snow to make it safe.
The boy’s body was found about three hours after the first call.
