Three people who took to the Rhine in Basel during the height of the flooding will have to pay the costs of their own rescue.
The men took to the waters in a dinghies and paddleboards when the river was closed to all shipping in the middle of last month. Police say the flood waters were dangerous and the men ignored the signs.
They will have to pay nearly CHF 6,000.
