Geneva Airport has shut parts of its Terminal 2 after a wooden-framed hangar collapsed overnight in mid-July

The 1968-built structure fell to the west of the runways in mid July, causing material damage but no injuries.

Airport management has moved staff and storage that were housed there elsewhere in Cointrin, while a working group inspects other wooden and metal-framed buildings on the tarmac.

Terminal 2 opens to the public only on winter weekends to handle overflow passengers, and routine checks on the wooden-frame buildings had previously found no structural problem.
